The Ultimate How-To

Posted under Free Resources, Tools

Want to know how to fend off a shark, save on gas, build a picket fence, or soak a stamp off of an envelope? FindHow.com makes it easy to find authoritative information on how to do just about anything related to your car, career, home, education, family relationships, travel, holidays and more.

You can browse information by category or do a search. The search feature isn’t as intuitive as you might want. When I typed in “how to manage email” the top results were about being or becoming a manager. Still if you need instructions on how to get something done, its a good place to start.

Send Text Messages to Cell Phones from Your Computer

Posted under Resources, Tools

Are you working at your computer and don’t have the time to text messages to people out on the road? Now you can use your email account to send text messages to any cell phone.

To send a text message from your computer determine the correct SMS email format for the recipient’s cell service carrier. See below for SMS email formats for the major carriers. Or if you aren’t sure what carrier the recipient has, you can send a message through TeleFlip’s free service by emailing the recipient’s phonenumber@teleflip.com.

It even works to send the recipient’s reply back to your email instead of your cell phone!

Major Cell Service SMS Email Formats

Alltel: 10-digit phone number@message.alltel.com

AT&T: 10-digit-number@txt.att.net

Sprint: 10-digit phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com

T Mobile: 10-digit phone number@tmomail.net

Verizon: 10-digit-number or vtext nickname@vtext.com
