One of the issues I had when switching from Blackberry to Android was typing. I liked that I could type/text on the Blackberry with one hand. Using the touch screen, one hand typing is possible on the Droid, however I always hit the wrong keys. Fortunately I have a keyboard, but when I’m on the go, dealing with text, email and other issues is difficult if I have to constantly slide out the keyboard.
So I’m really excited about Vlingo. Vlingo touts itself as a “… a combination of the best voice to text applications and an intelligent virtual assistant.” It can send texts and emails, update social network statuses, find and navigate to locations, search the web, dial contact and more.
Most phones come with voice commands, but they can’t do all this. And the standard voice command feature on my phone often gets my command wrong… or maybe I don’t articulate.
Vlingo is available on most Blackberry, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, Nokia and some Windows Mobile Deviced. And … it’s free. Learn more at Vlingo or access your phones app store to download.
Have you ever accidentally deleted or lost a file you wanted to keep? Well now recovering that file is easy. A free program, Undelete Plus can scan your computer for the lost file and restore it. ” It can also recover files that have been emptied from the Recycle Bin, permanently deleted files within Windows using the Shift + Delete, and files that have been deleted from within a Command Prompt.”
Undelete Plus works on Windows systems and supports all Windows file systems for hard and floppy drive.
To use the program, simply download and install (there is no spyware, adware, malware or registration). When you lose a file simply:
1) Do a quick check were the file should be as well as look in your recycle bin.
2) If its still missing, launch Undelete Plus and use it to search for the file.
3) From the list generated, find the missing file and re-save.
If you can’t find the file, try a new search. If its still missing, you can try some other free file recovery resources such as Restoration and PC Inspector File Recovery.
Mac users can use Data Rescue II which unfortunately isn’t free. You can check out other options at FreeDownloadManager where you can find free and shareware options.
When I first started my business, I paid a fortune in tools and services to get it up and running. MS Office Suite cost hundreds of dollars. Then there were the planners, form templates and a host of other tools and services each with a fairly hefty fee.
Today the Internet offers many of these tools and services at an affordable price. Entrepreneur offers most of them for free. Entrepreneur Assist is a one-stop virtual officer where you can:
Create text documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
Customize and use business form templates.
Hold live online meetings with customers and colleagues.
Schedule events and reminders.
Build your business plan.
You can even read and save articles from Entrepreneur.com as well as read free business related books.
The templates menu is vast including samples of accounting forms, starting a business checklists, sales receipts, business plans and more. The book selection is small but offers resources in retirement planning, project planning, marketing and more.
The appeal of Entrepreneur Assist is the ability to have a variety of office tools and service all in one spot. In a single sitting you can print out an invoice, write a letter, read and save an article, create your schedule and host an online meeting all from one site.

The Coupon Mom is offering 3 free ebooks that can help you save big at the grocery and drug stores. And you don’t need to register or give your email to get them!
I recently saw the Coupon Mom on a re-run of Oprah. She bought $125 worth of groceries for about $37. I was impressed! So I visited her site to get the low down on grocery shopping. The ebooks offer some great tips to get you started. However, I think discount grocery shopping is a skill that is developed over time. I ended up spending 25% over my normal budget and spent over 5 hours (3 of them grocery shopping) in the process. I can only hope that the 6 boxes of cereal, 8 cans of diced tomatoes and other items I stockpiled will last long enough to have the end result be a lower monthly grocery bill.
