I love web aps that make my life easier. How ever too many apps can confuse things. That’s why I love resources like iGoogle in which many of my tools can be accessed in one place.
In my hunt for a great goal setting tool, I was concerned about how I would manage yet another app. Resources like 43 Things are great not only to set and manage goals, but for the support and social aspect. But I don’t tend to go back to them once I set them up. If you don’t use it, it can’t help you.
So I was intrigued when I found this post from last year on We Do Creative on how to use Google Calendar to manage goals. I love this idea because I do check my calendar on a regular basis. You can not only set your goals, but break them down into milestones and tasks as well. If your goals are a group effort, you can share that particular goal’s calendar with others as well.
Check out this article, “Google Calendar as a Todo List & Task Management App” and see if it works for you.

Its an odd fact of life that we’re more likely to do something we don’t like to help someone else, than to do it for ourselves. If you’re that type of person, the Plus3Network.com is for you. The site connects sponsors who will pay the charity of your choice for each mile that you bike, run, walk, or many other physical activities. Simply choose your cause (many to choose from including Breast Cancer Research, Project Rwanda, and The Environmental Defense Fund), log in your miles, and your charity is paid through sponsors.
You can help raise even more money by inviting your friends to join and organizing teams and/or events.
The best part is that each time your exercise, you aren’t only improving your health, but you’re helping to raise money for a worthy cause. Learn more at Plus3Network.com.

Remember when you were in school and you buried the time capsule that wasn’t to be opened for 50 years? At FutureMe.org, you can find a variation of this concept by being able to email yourself sometime in the future. You can capture your life today and send yourself a note to arrive next week, next year, or the next decade. Or you can write about how you’d like to be in a year or five years and send yourself a note dated at that time to see if you reach your goals.
Even if you think all this is a little hokey, check out the letters others have sent (there is an option to make your letter public). There are some very amusing notes people are sending to their future selves.
To learn more or send yourself a note, visit FutureMe.org.
