The more powerful the tool, the greater the need to use it wisely. At the same time, these social site can be powerfully effective in helping people achieve various goals. I've recently become the 'Community Catalyst' at Biznik (the site you mentioned you've passed over for now). I believe their mix of authentic connection online and offline, in order to help people fulfill their vocational dreams, is a manifesto I can totally get behind.
